Doug Jones has been a prominent figure in the cruise industry for nearly 40 years, making significant contributions to the development of entertainment and lecture programs across many renowned cruise lines. He began his impressive career in the early eighties with the celebrated Royal Viking Line, where he served as Cruise Director for many years. Throughout his journey, Doug has lent his expertise both on board and onshore to numerous cruise lines, including Seabourn, Silversea, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity Cruises, among others. In the mid-nineties, Doug took on the role of Director of Entertainment at Renaissance Cruises. There, he was instrumental in designing their entire entertainment product, successfully launching eight ships in just four years. Building on this wealth of experience, Doug launched Sixth Star in early 2002. Sixth Star is an innovative “entertainment and edu-tainment” company that serves as a comprehensive solution for cruise lines and resorts. Under Doug’s leadership, Sixth Star has flourished into the premier provider of enrichment programs in the cruise industry. Today, his team at Sixth Star supports over 17 cruise lines and places talented individuals on more than 175 vessels worldwide, ensuring unforgettable experiences for travelers across the globe.
